"Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:16
Welcome
Greetings, I'm Dominique Davis, the heart and soul behind Brown & Bendy.
My Journey:
My path has been a tapestry of transformation, a journey from the principles of the New Age movement and the exploration of the Law of Attraction to a profound embrace of Christian faith. It's a journey that has reshaped my beliefs, deepened my understanding of spirituality, and led me to where I am today.

My Beliefs:
I've learned that the quest for knowledge and understanding takes many forms, and that spiritual growth is a dynamic, ever-evolving process. Through my exploration, I've discovered the powerful harmony that can exist between diverse perspectives, and how they can enrich our lives.

I believe that Jesus Christ is the living God in the flesh. I believe in heaven and that the only way to get to heaven is by accepting Jesus Christ as the one and only Lord and Savior of this world. I believe in the Trinity, the combined power of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There is only one path to true enlightenment and that is through obedience to Christ and his teachings as well as consistent pursuit of God's will.

My Mission:
Brown & Bendy is a reflection of my mission—to make yoga accessible to women and to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for those seeking to release trauma and nurture an authentic relationship with the Holy Spirit. Core Beliefs
The Yoga Philosophy Behind Brown & Bendy
We are to be Yoked with the Lord God Almighty

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Matthew 11:28-30

The word "Yoga" derives from the Sanskrit term "Yoke" or "Unite." It's a practice that invites us to unite with the unseen, to delve deep into the spiritual and physical realms. Yet, let's debunk a myth right away: Yoga is not a religion, nor is it exclusive to any particular belief system. Its association with Hinduism arises from its place of origin, where Hinduism was the prevalent faith.

So, what exactly do we unite with in Yoga? That's the beauty of it: the belief system is entirely your own. Your Yoga experience hinges on your personal beliefs and what you choose to connect with.

Let's take a moment to express our gratitude to both our Indian and African ancestors for gifting us this practice. Yoga offers us a path to shed the distractions of the world and turn inward. Through it, we release all earthly resistance to the Holy Spirit and find complete surrender of our physical and intellectual selves. We unite ourselves wholly with the One who paid it all.
Meditation is a Crucial Element in Strengthening A Relationship with Christ

"Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. Your commands are always with me and make me wiser than my enemies. I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes." Psalms 119:97-99

Meditation is the art of discovering stillness and turning our gaze inward to observe the thoughts that reside within us. When we apply this practice to Scripture, we gain a remarkable ability: real-time awareness of thoughts that do not align with the Word. Through this awareness, we can pinpoint aspects of our belief system that may hinder our evolving relationship with Christ.

In today's fast-paced world, where constant stimulation has become the norm, this practice becomes especially relevant. We've been programmed to seek constant engagement, often consuming content that leads to shallow states of being. Shockingly, the average human attention span has dwindled to a mere 8.25 seconds, shorter even than that of a goldfish! Our attention spans have decreased by 25% from 2000 to 2015.

How can we focus on God if we struggle to focus at all? Here, Yoga comes to our aid, supported by scientific evidence showing its capacity to enhance mental focus and concentration. In the spiritual battle we face, our mind stands as our primary weapon against the adversary. Let's do everything in our power to keep it sharp and strong.

At Brown & Bendy, we're here to guide you on this journey of mental and spiritual fortification. Join us as we harness the power of meditation and Yoga to deepen your connection with Christ, fostering clarity, resilience, and unwavering focus.
Wickedness is Our Innate Nature

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

The age-old theological debate over whether we are inherently born evil or become so as we navigate life has persisted for centuries. What remains undeniable is that as we immerse ourselves in the world, it's nearly inevitable that we absorb some of its ways.

Frequently, this inclination toward wickedness becomes ingrained in our subconscious, often disguising itself as imperceptible personality flaws on the surface. However, when we commit ourselves to shedding our ego, allowing the radiant personality of Christ to shine through, we gain the ability to discern those aspects of ourselves that perpetuate wickedness instead of reflecting His glory.

The practice of Yoga becomes a valuable tool in this journey of ego shedding, guiding us toward becoming conscious vessels for the Almighty rather than unwitting vessels for the adversary.

Join us at Brown & Bendy as we explore this profound transformation, striving to align ourselves with the divine, embracing His grace, and allowing His light to dispel the darkness within.
